Founded in 1888 and incorporated in 1946, Gig Harbor is one of the most picturesque small cities in America.  It is located on Gig Harbor Bay in Puget Sound across the Narrows Bridge from Tacoma.

At St. Anthony, we e reinvented the hospital experience. Visitors to the hospital have access to state-of-the-art, 24/7 emergency services, sophisticated in- and outpatient surgery, complete outpatient cancer care and more. Welcome to the Peninsula School District located in Gig Harbor, Washington. The Peninsula School District is comprised of fifteen schools and a total of 9,222 students.  Geographically, it is located across Puget Sound from the Seattle/ Tacoma area and covers a 120 square-mile area on two peninsulas. The Peninsula School District is considered one of the strongest and most innovative districts in the State of Washington.

The City supports a healthy community of people through our local parks and recreation facilities.  Download the Local City Parks Map to plan your next visit to the area. All parks are open from dawn to dusk.  Restrooms are on automatic timers, generally opening at 5:00 am and closing at 10:00 pm, but hours fluctuate with seasonal use. Alcohol, smoking and dogs running at large are prohibited in City parks.  Skateboards, scooters and roller skates/in-line skates are prohibited on triped streets within the city but allowed on sidewalks or public paths.
